Slow Flow Vinyasa
Tuesdays 6:00pm; Fridays 9:30am; Saturdays 11:20am (60 min)
"Vinyasa" means "divine placement" or "to place in a special way" so in this Slow Flow class, movements into and between poses are much more deliberate and coupled with slower and deeper breaths. While this class is appropriate for students familiar with yoga (but new to "vinyasa"), be prepared for a challenge because momentum is not going to get you in and out of the poses. The intention is for you to feel connected to the mat as though you're moving "on the moon": slowly, with the breath and with mindful precision for proper and safe alignment. Your continued attendance will increase your familiarity and confidence with the various pose names and their positions. Classical yoga poses are taught along with variations and a few "twists" to help the mind stay attentive and both body and mind interested.
This class is suitable for all levels, including beginners, as modifications are always offered. Without a doubt, the most experienced yoga practitioner will also find this class of great value. Savasana at the end? Always! ALL LEVELS (with modifications offered)
