Carolyn

Carolyn is a rising Masters student at the University of Mary Washington where she is studying Elementary Education. Athletics and fitness have always been important to Carolyn. Her two favorite ways to exercise are play soccer and attend group fitness classes. She found a love for Barre after deciding to attend the class at her school’s gym. She is certified as a Level 1 instructor through American Barre Technique and currently working on her Level 2. After being diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, Carolyn has looked at exercise as medicine for her. Barre, being a low impact workout, has helped keep exercise in her life without putting stress on her joints. She also designed and taught a group fitness class at her school called Low Impact Interval Training which is formatted the same as a HIIT workout, but with minimal impact on joints. This is where the workouts she uses in her Cardio/Strength class come from. Carolyn teaches Barre Body Workout and Cardio/Strength.
